Last camping trip of the year!

I'm so sad this weekend was the last camping trip of the year. I love camping and we never do it enough! May~be next year will be different. So we have been planning this trip for months. I went on line way back in March to book Red Fir. It's a group campsite that I found last year. The site was book until this last weekend. So I took it... Thinking I could easily get 25 people to go camping in September. So yeah it was easy and I had the whole site full. Until the week before we left. People were dropping out left and right. I don't know if they thought the weather was going to be to cold or what. Anyway... It came down to the day before we left and we had a good group going. Then two more couples dropped out. So it ended up being Me, Mark, Cameron, Emily, her friend Megan, Richard, Rian, Brandon, Denise, Massey, Brice, his friend Dylan, and my parents. We all went up Friday except for my parents. They came up Saturday morning. Great weekend. We took Emily out of school and left here at 11:00, Drove to Eldorado Hills met up with Richard, Rian and Cameron. Cameron had drove to Richards Thursday night and came with him. Made it so Emily could bring a friend and Cameron wouldn't have such a long drive home. Rian got in the car with me and the girls and Mark drove up with Richard and Cameron!

Almost there... YEAH!

When we got to the camp around 2:30 Brandon and Denise were already there. We got out had a drink and the boys played three flys up before we set up camp!

We set up camp and then spLit into two teams. We tried to get Emily to play but she didn't want to. The teams were~ Team one... Me, Mark, Cameron, Bryce, and Megan.
Team two... Brandon, Denise, Richard, Rian, and Dylan.
We played wiffle ball. All I can say is Team 1 was on fire. End score 12 to 3. We gave them a can of woop ASS! Go team 1~

Evening consisted of dinner... Rock on BBQ. Everyone shared what they brought! YUMMY!

After dinner the kids horsed around the adults drank and enjoyed the fire. Then we did Smores...wouldn't be a camping trip with out the smores. Cameron is the king at roasting marshmellows. When he was in scouts he won the marshmallow roasting contest at camp! Richard and Brandon were amazed at how big he could get the marshmallows. It is pretty amazing and the pictures of course don't do them justice.

It was Brandon's Birthday Friday so we had to sing Happy Birthday to him!

Saturday Mark and I woke up early made coffee and went for a walk to the lake. What a beautiful morning. It was already at least 75 degrees at 8:00 in the morning.

When all the kids got up we made pancakes and sausage for breakfast got ready and headed to the lake. Perfect weather... not to hot and not much wind. The lake is a litte chilly kinda like Tahoe but it didn't stop anyone. We went to a small island that we could walk to. There wasn't anyone on the lake and it made for a wonderful day with friends and family!

When we were at the lake they found a spot on the rock to jump off of! Here is a video I put together of the jumping!

We hung at the lake all day. Went back to camp had some snacks... Guacamole, salsa, and queso. YUM YUM! The kids played cards and ran around camp. That's the best part of this camp ground... You can let the kids go and there is so much space they love it!

After dinner it was smores and then a game of liars dice. Always a good time!

The next morning we got up early made chorizo and egg burritos for breakfast, packed up camp and headed to Brandon and Denise's house to watch an exciting but sad 49er game! We finally got home around 5:00! Fun weekend with family and friends. Too bad for those of you who canceled you missed out! May be next year! Emily is on two week break as of today so I'm gonna do a few day trips. We will see what we do!
