Emily and I got up around 8:00. The room came with a wonderful buffet breakfast. Had breakfast and left the hotel around 9:30. Did some shopping at union square. Great bargain... Love the SUMMER SALES! Shoes and dresses galore for us! We were done shopping by 1:00. Took the loot back to the hotel... Had to change because it was just out right hot. 89 degrees and rising. I packed for warmer weather but no tank tops and we needed tank tops. So we had to by some. Actually we bought summer dresses. We took a taxi to the Wharf. Emily wanted to do the tourist thing. She has never been to Bubba Gumps and always asks to go there. SO I took her this time! Here's our view from the restaurant. Gorgeous day!
After lunch we checked out the Wharf area then started to walk down the Embarcadero. When we reached pier 23 we noticed there was something going on. There was a ship making a special stop its The Cuauhtémoc, an 18th century-style tall ship from Mexico. It was pretty big.
We continued walking. I forgot that once you leave the hotel and Wharf areas it's hard to find a taxi. Needless to say we ended up almost walking all the way to the Bay Bridge from Pier 39. That's a hell of a walk. We found a taxi and went back to the hotel. Took a short nap until Mark returned. He asked us to go to dinner with a few co workers. Emily didn't want to go. She wanted to enjoy hotel life. So I left her with some money and she took a bath, ordered room service and chilled in the room. We went to Scoma's for dinner.. Walked to Buena Vista's ... Had an Irish coffee... finally went back to the hotel and had a few drinks in the bar courtesy of the hotel. Our room rate included free breakfast and two drinks per day. That's 6 cocktails for us... FREE! WHOO HOO! I ordered 20 year old port.. Can you say delicious! Nice evening!
...and we're back!
