It's Emily's 14th Birthday!

It's finally her... That's what she said when she woke up about an hour ago! So 14 what do you do at 14. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what we were going to do for her... Then she asked if we could take her and a friend shopping in San Fransisco for the day. Of course we said yes! After we made plans and were getting ready the day before. We realized Chinese New Year was on Saturday. When we told Emily what was going to go on she decided she didn't want to go to SF any more. She changed it to Santa Cruz. So we bundled up for a cold day in Santa Cruz... to our pleasant surprise it was beautiful. Couldn't of asked for a better day in Feb. So we were on a trip navigated by Emily.

Photos before we left the house...The girls bought matching t-shirts that said " Are you a good witch or a bad witch" and matching head bands!

first stop... The Wharf at Santa Cruz... All she wanted to do here was get some gelato and see the seals.

Next stop... Capitola... Lunch at El Toro Bravo (chili verde burritos with green sauce and cheese) YUM YUM! Then a walk on the beach. and of course a little window shopping!

Then we drove to Westfeild Mall in San Jose... Shopped, shopped some more, shopped until the boys went crazy. Danielle invited us over for cake so that was our final stop for the day. She make the most delicious apple cake with carmel or chocolate sauce. Girls had chocolate, Mark and I had Carmel and Cameron had both. Thanks Danielle that was too sweet of you!

After everything we got home around 10:00 and everyone was exhausted. Emily said she had a great day. to quote her " This was the best birthday ever thank you!" I have such a sweet daughter! So proud of who she is becoming.

Cameron was wondering why he was stuck with two 14 year old girls who were acting silly all day! He did a good job just bearing it all! He loves his sister after all!

Horrible picture of me but the only one that came out of Mark and I. Oh well! What to you do?

The morning after the girls got dressed in a new outfit and went to hang out with some friend at the park!

and finally... This morning the birthdy girl and her best friend Megan! She's 14!!

Now they are getting ready to go to the movies. She wants spagetti for dinner and I'm making her chocolate lava cake for dessert! Should be a good day for her!
